Major Halreed Copacabana (ハルリード＝コパカバーナ Harurīdo Kopakabāna) is an officer of the Legitimacy Kingdom's 52nd Mobile Maintenance Battalion, a noble and was the Elite of the Object Bright Hopper.[1]
Etymology[]
As well as the name of several settlements, Copacabana is also the name of a cocktail based on brandy, with a cachaça-based variant.
Appearance[]
Halreed is described as having curly blonde hair.[2] He wears a purple and white uniform with gold lining and epaulettes.[3][4]
Personality[]
Halreed is described as a stereotypical noble,[5] looking down on commoners, glory-hungry, self-serving and somewhat misogynist.[1][5][3]
Background[]
The eldest son of an influential noble family, Halreed at some point became the 3rd-in-line candidate for an arranged marriage with Froleytia Capistrano by the Capistrano family.[1][3]
Chronology[]
An Audition War[]
Halreed and the 52nd were sent to support the 37th Mobile Maintenance Battalion in their battle against the Mass Driver Conglomerate. Instead of cooperating, Halreed requested that they just drive the enemy's Object towards him so he could finish it off, only seeing the battle as a performance to show off his advanced Object.[1][3] However, as he was making his way to the enemy, the Bright Hopper was suddenly destroyed by a shot from the Lisolette, Halreed's only warning being a sudden flash in the sky.[5] Halreed managed to eject in time.[2][4]
After the Lisolette's destruction, an injured Halreed contacted Froleytia to inform her of his survival and that he had been made 1st-in-line, attempting to have her leave her military position and return for marriage. However due to Quenser's actions, he was tricked into thinking that Froleytia had been committing 'adultery' and enjoying herself with her subordinates.[2] He subsequently called off his engagement and insisted on returning home afterwards, not taking part in the battle against the remnants of the conglomerate.[2][6]
Skills and Abilities[]
As an Elite, Halreed is trained and calibrated in order to operate his Object, the Bright Hopper.[1][3]
