The Apoptosis (アトポーシス Apotōshisu) is a type of UAV developed by the Faith Organization.

EtymologyEdit

Apoptosis is the process of programmed cell death that may occur in multicellular organisms, also known as "cell suicide".

PrinciplesEdit

The Apoptosis is a ground attack UAV, developed by the Faith Organization as part of their frozen submarine aircraft carrier project. To make up for the debt of the failed project, the Faith Organization sold them to anyone who would pay. After that, they started being seen as the symbol of terrorism.[1]

They’re unmanned attack craft made as small and light as possible, making them perfect to carry around while keeping them hidden. With additional booster and launcher equipment they can be fired vertically. They have propeller engines that focus on flight time rather than jet engines that focus on speed, so they are not good at evasive actions.[1]

They are armed with bombs. Additionally, when they are unable to continue flying, they chemically scatter their fuel around the nearby area and then ignite it. That way, they can take out the enemy craft that shot them down or do damage to a target facility on the ground, the reason the UAVs are named after a form of suicide.[1]

Since they aren’t using a combustion agent meant for bombs and all they do is scatter their leftover fuel, the range of this last ditch explosion varies. At best, its range is about 200 meters around them, but the power goes down depending on how much they have left in their tank.[1]

ChronologyEdit

The Coming of Third GenerationEdit

The Legitimacy Kingdom's base on the Amazon District where Quenser and Heivia were deployed was attacked by several Apoptosis, who had avoided the early warning radar by taking off within the naval base’s defensive line using two vertical launchers mounted in trucks. Quenser and Heivia managed to capture one of the launchers and proceed to use it to bomb the second one, ending the attack.[1]
